During those cold days of winter most of us have homes we can stay warm in, but those days are very hard on the homeless as they have no homes. A cold day can be very hard on them, even to the point where they can end up freezing to death. I know when i was homeless it was very hard to keep warm even in the car. This blog post will covered places that hopefully you can get help for them to stay warm in. I am some groups on Facebook that try to help the homeless and those in need too. I came across a service while i was looking through it and it's for the Ky area of the 859 area code.There is a picture below too. So if you see a homeless in need be sure to call them to get a homeless person some help.
I am looking around for other services that helps in this fashion too as i am working on writing this blog post. I feared that there might not be other services of this kind although. So i took it one step further by providing a how to link from homeless support website. When dealing with a problem it comes in handy knowing who to talk to. Mayors of states and cities are often who want to get in touch with. Ge friends and family in on it. When you think of micro homes you think of a small house being to small to lived in. Micro homes are perfect for someone that are homeless to have a roof over their heads. They can housed about two people and they can provide heat too if you use a solar panel on the roof. Or powered a small microwave to feed the homeless person or people. These homes can be built from free wood too that a lot of places just tossed away also. Really the only thing that is needed is a plot of land like a empty lot. I see solutions to the homeless problems all the time as vacant land plots not being used, or old buildings that have been empty forever. Society can be very wasteful in the way they waste their resources. Those land lots can be used for micro housing, those buildings can be use to house the homeless. While we waste resources like that homeless people suffered. This blog post talks some about the micror houses. they are also known as tiny houses too. Tiny houses are much better then tents as they can be kept warmer on the inside. Tiny houses were big back in 2007 and 2008 as people were starting to lose their homes so the idea have been used before. To me this would get the the homeless off the streets so they would be safer too. You can always find a empty plot of land that is not being used too. I see them all the time as i am driving around. Those plots of land could be donated to make a living area for the homeless. People complain about seeing them sleeping outside, but in all fairness where are they supposed to sleep at when homeless shelters are not around or they are filled up? Wouldn't a plot of land fill with micro houses look far better? If you answer yes to that question then you could be the force of changed that is needed to make it the real deal. Blog about it, make videos or just share this blog. Get it out there so people with the wealth and power will see it. This blog is getting the hits, but not nearly enough to to catch the eyes of those in power yet. People that i would loved to see this blogs are the mayors and the people that runs the cities and states. To make a different i need the attention of the people that can do it. If we can get their attention we can plant the seeds to a better solution for the homeless. Us working together we can do the impossible to make it possible. A haircut might not seem like it could help a homeless person out. But let us look at it from a different angle, if our hair is not taken care of it creates a look that can keep us from working and other problems too. I can recall one time when my pack was homeless. I went into a store to buy items that we needed to survived on the streets. The greeter there had some very lose lips. He went on to describe a shaggy looking guy that was in there before me. Calling him a bum because of his hair being messed up. He was talking about my dad. I let him continued to hanged himself some more before mentioning that he was talking about my dad even though i wanted to chewed him out. I bit my tongue till i could not take anymore. When i told him that was my dad, he went silent on me. Not to mention i recorded the conversation too. I then went to speak to the owner of the store, I played the recording to the owner too. Explaining that my dad and myself have come here many times to shop and buy items. I went on to tell him i did not want the guy fired. I told him educating the guy would be a better option. I spoke to the owner for about a half hour. And we parted our way. He then gave me a gift card for 500 bucks and told me that he would educate the greeter and the rest of his workers too on being better people. I not going to mention the store name or the guy name either because the problem was handled very well. I used this story as a reference to how people can profiled other people they come into contact with other people. This is how a haircut can helped a homeless person too.
A simple thing like a haircut can make a person feel great about themselves. For one thing they have someone they can talk to for a little while. This blog post is about free haircuts for the homeless and the barber business is in Newport Ky too. I drive past his business everyday too. This is the first time i have heard anything about him too, but he made the news on channel 9. If he has a website i will post it in the blog also. One of the biggest problem of being homeless is having a place where you can sleep and relaxed at. Cops always try to run you off and will threaten you by saying they will arrest you. So unless you have the land owner permission to stay there you will be mess with. Sometimes this isn't even good enough. I have had cops lied to me before saying that they got a call from the owners saying they wanted us out of there. Needless to say those cops got into trouble over doing this. This blog post is about a group of people trying to helped the homeless by providing a place where they can stay and throwing up tents for shelter for them when a building shelter is full or does not exist in that area. They are doing this by trying to buy land so the homeless will have a place to exist and be more safer for them too. I know when my pack was homeless I had to watched out for cops that would try to run us out of our sleeping spots. I would loved to see programs go up like the one i am talking about in this blog post go up all over the USA. Not Just In New Jersey. It's a start in the right direction although for now and it's for that reason that I am writing about it in this blog post. With the temperatures more homeless people will be at risk of freezing to death. This can be overcome too. It takes people working together to overcome it although, no one by themselves will overcome this problem.
The solution to any problem is to become part of the solution, not part of the problem. Only when we stopped trying to make life harder for the homeless will this world be better place. The old saying of don't kick a the dog while it is down is true for a person too. Instead of making a homeless person life harder we should be trying to help them better themselves. A person working alone is good, but a collective group working together is what it is going to take to end homeless cycle. And that is what one group of people are doing too, there is a lot of red tape to the homeless problem. Only when we stopped thinking of being homeless as a crime which it is not will we be able to help the homeless.
The land for the homeless program is a very good idea, and i would loved to see it all over in all the states and cities too. It is a needed thing to help keep the homeless safe and to helped them too. Maybe blogging about them will be the thing that gets the program started in other other states and cities too. And it will help them out too. The time to have done something was many years ago, but it's never to late to begin now.
